Profielwerkstuk: Slavery For my paper I have choosen the subject striverry. The reason why I chose this subject is beca hold of an experience last summer. I went in concert with my parents on holiday to eastern Africa. On the small island Zanzibar we visited the slave basements of Stone Town. I was deeply shocked by what I saw and what our African guide told us. It set me thinking well-nigh life and I wanted to know more closely it. When I got back home I went to the library and got more or less more information about slavery. I was most interested in United States its role in it and how it constituted the next generation black wad, children from ex-slaves. I read more about icons like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. King was a military personnel who spoke with conviction and he called on the people to admit non-violence. Malcolm X on the other hand wanted people to do everything that was necessary to reach the goal (equal rights for black and white). about all my information came out of books. Websites didnt always take a leak reliable information, so thats why I didnt use that so often. The orientation phase was very operose because I found it hard to search for unsloped doubtfulnesss. When I finally found them, I could search for more details.

My question was: How did the fifties and sixties effect the Afro-Americans in the US in their fight for equal rights? Before I was able to practise this question I had to find out how the slavery began in the US and what development took place over the almost 4 centuries the slavery existed. There is a huge difference in how black people or slaves were treated in the northwesterly and South of the United States. In Southern America slaves were much more important. A company couldnt be good without any slaves. The whole economy was based on the use of slaves in for example mines and plantations. The treatment of these people, who were working against their will, was horrible. During the time the slaves werent always obedient en they started to resist themselves...
