In the United States of America thither are two levels of jurisprudence, federal and dry land. This paper will sum up the kinship between the U.S government and the policing organizations throughout the U.S and the impact of this relationship on American society.
The federal police force level consists of legion(predicate) organizations that imply but are not limited to the federal Bureau of Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, tobacco plant and Firearms. These organizations follow through federal statutes throughout the country and assist topical anaesthetic agencies apprehend and prosecute criminals charged with federal crimes (Walker & Katz, 2008).
The estate police level consists of three levels which can be titled differently depending on the state. The structure for state of California will be used for this paper. The first level is the California Highway Patrol. It is accepted as the state police and it has jurisdiction throughout the state of California, for example, highways and state government buildings. Each state governs itself and establishes different laws to enforce (Walker & Katz, 2008).
The second level of police is operated by a Sheriffs Department for each county within the state.
The County Sheriffs Department operates and maintains the county jails, patrols unincorporated areas and is contracted to provide police services for cities with no topical anesthetic police department (Walker & Katz, 2008).
The first level is the city police within each county of the state. metropolis police provide patrol and enforce the law within the city limits. State police organizations enforce laws established in the state Penal Code. County Sheriffs include county mandates and city police enforce both county mandates and city ordinances (Walker & Katz, 2008).
