Syllabus: The Climate and the Economy
Course purpose: hold an understanding for the interrelation between climate change and the international thrift. The track will give and understanding of the base issues, tools to see them, and deliver assessments of various forms of insurance, both qualitatively and quantitatively. This will totally be accomplished from a joint natural-science and economics perspective. The soma should be particularly valuable for (current and future) policymakers in the area of surroundings and climate change but also for anyone else with an interest in these areas. The gradation is an adaptation of a similar course give at the Master level at Stockholm University. The course will require math skills at the level of an advance under graduate course in economics or a course at a more basic level in engineering. Students do not need to be economists, also engineers and meteorologists are welcome provided they have an interest and a basic understanding of economics. Given that the course is quite compressed, students should bet to work hard during the short circuit course period. Due to the short time, some elements of the course presented below may have to be dropped.
Readings: the main reading is a manuscript prepared for this course by the instructor. Certain other readings may be added.
