Dickens used his testify experiences to help him understand the huge division of wealth in Victorian society. He grew up in very poor household, the eldest of eight children. But at the age of clubhouse he was send to school where he was very joyful until his family moved to London and because his sister was sent to the Royal check of Music, the family couldnt afford for him to be educated so he stayed at home. once his father started to lose money however, Dickens was sent to work at a blacking factory, a situation that was made even worse when his father was sent to prison for debt.
As Dickens grew up, he learnt to fend for himself; he got a low earning job, and managed to pay off his familys debt. Once he had started writing, his life was vastly different to his childhood, giving him the cable he needed to understand the situation of the poor and the ship canal in which the wealthy could alleviate the situation.
