Chapter Summaries: Speak
Chapter 1- Melinda starts high school as an outcast, every champion is mad at her because she called the police on summer party. No one, even her ex- best-friend, Rachel, has asked her what happened. At and assembly in the morning, kids taunt Melinda and laugh at her. Melinda watched her archaic friends from her lonely seat. She sees that they all joined new cliques and mocks them exactly incomprehensible inside she is bothered that shes not welcomed. When she catches Rachels eye, Rachel mouths i hate you crosswise the room. While Mr. Neck starts to talk Melinda thinks of The First Ten Lies They ramify You In High School.
Chapter 2; Our Teachers Are The Best- Melinda names her position teacher Hairwoman because of her crazy hair. She says that Hairwoman takes 20 minutes to do the attention and then the rest of the period is spent with her standing at the board, her back to the class, discussing the required reading and their journals. Then Melinda finds out that erst again she as American History for the ninth magazine in nine years. Her socila studies teacher is Mr. Neck who thinks she is a braggart(a) student and told her i got my eyes on you.
Chapter 3: Spotlight- In this chapter Melinda is at lunch and she doesnt know what to order or where to sit.
She looks at her old friends for help but they just look away. She is lavatory a basketball player who finds his friends and they throe mashed potatoes at him but it hits Melinda instead. She thinks that she would be know as girl who got nailed by mashed potatoes the graduation day. The whole cafe explodes in laughter and she runs through for the brink in embarrassment. When she runs through the door she is stopped my Mr. Neck because he has cafe duty. He doesnt let her leave and notes that he knew she was ail when she saw him. Melinda just stays silent because to her no one wants to hear what you have to say.
