August Wilsom

In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, rattling(a) Wilson was born on April 27, 1945. While growing up Wilsons mother raised the children alone and he did not have a father figure for the most part. August was attending Central Catholic High School at the time and he was the solely African-American in 1959 where he was forced to leave by even more threats and abuse. com) Wilsons mother made him join the United States army in 1963 for three years, however this did not last long and he left after one year. He picked back up where he left off and started working random jobs as a dishwasher, porter, and many other various jobs.
Leaders such as Malcolm X would inspire Wilson in his writings. Not only did Malcolm influence him but also the Nation of Islam and the Black personnel did as well. These groups brought up topics such as self-sufficiency, self-determination, and self-defense. In 1969 he married a Muslim, Brenda Burton, and August changed to Islam in so he could keep the marriage. They had one daughter, Sakina Ansari-Wilson, but unfortunately divorced in 1972.
