My lesson in perseverance began when I went down in the batters box during a game. The pitched ball shot glowering my elbow towards the third baseman. He fielded the ball and began to throw it to first before finally realizing that I was lying in disorder on home plate. A couple of hours later the set up confirmed that the pitch that hit my elbow had caused a discase break. As the news sank in that this would be my fourth blue arm and fourth missed season, I begin to wonder if I will ever play a secure season again.
All the hours spent practicing, yet I exactly make it through two full games of the season, made me promontory if I wanted to stick with this sport. On that day and until this day, I committed to sticking with baseball. I have persisted through dispirited bones, a concussion, horribly cold weather, sweltering heat, batting slumps, and frightful umpires. Even though perseverance may be taught and explained by teachers, until you have actually persevered, you will never fully down the stairs stand the meaning.
